Are you often frustrated by extra pages mixed into your PDFs? Downloaded PDF files often contain many irrelevant advertising pages, merged documents include blank pages, or scanned files have incorrect content inserted — manually deleting pages one by one is a real headache. So how can we batch delete unwanted pages from a PDF, instantly making our documents clean and professional? This article will share several handy tips and tools that allow you to precisely clean up PDF pages within minutes, turning messy files into clear ones. Let's get started!
Why batch delete PDF pages?
Scanned documents have extra pages
When scanning PDF documents, contracts, and books, blank pages, cover pages, or duplicate pages may be included in the PDF due to incorrect settings. The number of file pages increases, but not many are actually useful. If we delete pages one by one for each file, it is very time-consuming. We can batch delete these PDF pages at once to make the files cleaner.
Only a portion is needed
Some PDFs have a lot of content, but only a few pages are actually used. A document with dozens of pages might only need one specific chapter or a few pages. If the entire file is saved and sent to others, it contains redundant content, and the recipient won't know which part is needed. By batch deleting unwanted pages, you can quickly retain the useful content and generate a simplified version of the PDF.
Document archiving
When organizing PDF documents or archiving, temporary drafts, instruction pages, or expired pages within the PDF file are unrelated to the required main text and have no further use value, and having too many can affect searching and management. Deleting these pages makes the content of each PDF file more focused and the structure clearer.

Method 1: Use HeSoft Doc Batch Tool to delete specific PDF pages
Recommendation Index: ★★★★★
Advantages:
The entire page deletion process is carried out locally on the computer, involving no file uploads, protecting user privacy and security. It can batch process dozens or hundreds of files simultaneously. After processing, the original format remains unchanged with high integrity. It also supports deleting only all even pages, all odd pages, or the first few or last few pages of the PDF.
Disadvantages:
The software must be installed on the computer to operate.
Steps:
1. Open [ HeSoft Doc Batch Tool ], select [PDF Tools] - [Delete PDF Pages].

2. In [Add Files] or [Import Files from Folder], choose a method to add the PDFs from which you want to delete pages. You can also drag and drop files directly to the area below to add them, then click Next.

3. Enter the settings options interface. Select [Custom] for the processing range. It also supports deleting only all odd pages, all even pages, or the first few or last few pages. Enter the page range for deletion below. For example, here, [1:2] means pages one to two, and [4] means page four. Use [,] to separate ranges. Click Next after confirming. Then click Browse to choose a save location for the new file.

Method 2: Use Adobe Acrobat DC to delete pages in PDF
Recommendation Index: ★★☆☆☆
Advantages:
Editing precision is accurate and won't accidentally damage other parts of the file. It also allows selecting pages for arbitrary drag-and-drop deletion.
Disadvantages:
The price is too high. Not recommended for non-professional users, due to low cost-effectiveness. It has a wide variety of functions requiring long study and research.
Steps:
1. Open the PDF file using Adobe Acrobat DC, and click the Organize Pages tool in the toolbar.

2. Enter the thumbnail view, then click to select pages. Use Ctrl + left mouse button to select multiple. Then press the Delete key to remove them.

3. Finally, save the PDF file.

Method 3: Use a virtual printer to generate only the needed PDF pages
Recommendation Index: ★★☆☆☆
Advantages:
The entire process is completely free, requires no new software installation, and is suitable for all computers.
Disadvantages:
The operation is cumbersome, unsuitable for PDFs with a large number of pages, and may lose interactive elements like links.
Steps:
1. Open the PDF, press Ctrl + P to open the print window.

2. Choose Microsoft Print to PDF as the printer. In the print range, select Pages and enter the page numbers you want to keep. Note: enter the pages to keep here, not the ones to delete.
