Many people don't know that the time in file system properties can be modified, such as the file creation time, modification time, and access time, which can all be customized according to our needs. Below, I'll show you how to modify properties like file creation time, modification time, and access time. It also supports batch modification of multiple files with one click, handling hundreds of files at once to greatly improve work efficiency.
In which cases do file system attribute timestamps need to be modified
1. Many people set file sorting on their computers to "sort by modification time." If the modification times are messy or not the actual modification times, then the file order becomes irregular, making it difficult to search. Therefore, we can restore reasonable file sorting by setting the file modification time.
2. Files copied from USB drives or cloud drives, extracted from compressed archives, or even moved from C drive to D drive will have their creation time changed to today. To match the original file order or to avoid revealing the time of the last file operation, you need to modify the timestamps in the file system attributes.
3. We need to clean up files on the computer, for example, deleting files that haven't been accessed in over a year. However, antivirus software or system indexing often automatically reads files, causing the file access time to be refreshed and thus become inaccurate. Therefore, it's necessary to uniformly modify the file access times to restore the real hot/cold state of the files.

Steps for batch modifying file creation time, modification time, and access time
1. Open " HeSoft Doc Batch Tool " and select "File Organization" -> "Modify File System Attribute Timestamps".

2. Add all files that need their time attributes modified; various file types such as Word, Excel, PDF, PPT, TXT are supported.

3. Here, choose the time type to modify. Creation time, modification time, and access time can all be changed. You can set a fixed specific time or choose a random time. After setting the random time range, it will automatically generate a new time within this range.

4. Once the processing is complete, click Save Location to view directly. All file system attribute timestamps have been modified.

Precautions for modifying file time attributes
1. The essence of this function is to modify the file system attribute timestamps, which are the file action times recorded by our computer system. It is not the file's own attribute timestamps. The file's own "content creation time," "last saved date," and other times will not be modified.
2. Modifying file system times ≠modifying the file's real times. Even if the creation time, modification time, and access time are modified, the file internally still records the original times, such as Word's "content creation time," etc.
3. Even if we modify the file's creation time, any subsequent operation, such as moving, copying, or compressing/decompressing the file, might refresh the newly changed time. So, it's best to avoid immediately accessing files whose system attribute timestamps have been modified.
