When dealing with high-resolution images—such as in medical imaging, satellite maps, and image design and editing—there is often a need to extract a small portion of the image to more closely examine lesion areas, land cover types, or partial design elements. When working with a large number of images, cropping and extracting each one individually can waste a lot of time and lead to lower-than-expected efficiency. The following explains how to use a fixed resolution to simultaneously split a large number of images into dozens of smaller images.
1. Use Cases
Split an image into dozens or hundreds of small images of fixed dimensions based on a specified height and width.
For example: an image with a resolution of 1920x1080, split using a fixed width and height of 384x218, yields 25 small images of 384x218 dimensions.
