In work, we often encounter situations where entire paragraphs of text need to be replaced and updated. So, how should we batch replace entire paragraphs in a TXT text file based on specified text or numbers? TXT is the simplest type of plain text file, with excellent versatility, but it lacks paragraph processing functionality. When we need to batch update product descriptions, terms, or other content in documents, or modify some standard paragraphs, we will find the keywords existing in the paragraphs, then delete the entire paragraph containing these keywords and replace it with new text. Doing this manually is not only troublesome but also prone to errors.
Here is a method that allows you to batch replace text in entire paragraphs by locating keywords, quickly updating entire sections and helping you improve text processing efficiency. Let's learn it together!
When should you replace entire paragraphs based on keywords in TXT files?
Updating Clause Documents
In some old legal or policy TXT documents, paragraphs containing "Date Retention for 6 Months" need to be updated to reflect new policy content, requiring replacement with "Date Retention for 12 Months". We can quickly replace the entire paragraph by searching for the keyword "Data Retention," ensuring the file content is promptly updated to meet regulatory requirements.
Revising Product Descriptions
When handling product manuals or technical documents, if product features change, entire paragraphs mentioning "Supports Windows 10" may exist. As functionality upgrades, you can quickly locate and replace that paragraph with "Supports Windows 11 and MacOS Monterey" based on a keyword search, completing the document update.
Cleaning Up Invalid Information
When a TXT file contains sensitive or outdated entire paragraphs, to protect sensitive information or correct errors, you can batch replace using text or numbers within that paragraph, safeguarding privacy while rapidly fixing inaccurate records.
