After storing files on a computer, the number of files increases over time through accumulation and replacement. Neglecting organization can make folders chaotic, so files need to be dated daily for easy management and retrieval. After collecting the files that need date prefixes added, manually renaming each file one by one to input the date prefix at the far left of the file name is very time-consuming. The following describes how to batch-add dates and other content at the far left of file names.
1. Use Cases
Batch generate date prefix content at the very beginning of filenames for a large number of specified files.
For example: Team Meeting Minutes.docx, Budget Analysis Document.xlsx, Action Plan Overview.pptx
After adding the date content 2025-1-16 at the very beginning of the filenames, they become 2025-1-16 Team Meeting Minutes.docx, 2025-1-16 Budget Analysis Document.xlsx, 2025-1-16 Action Plan Overview.pptx
