In audio files, OGG has become the preferred choice for many technicians and open-source projects due to its unique advantages of being open-source, free, and patent-free. Unlike some formats that are encumbered by copyright restrictions, it delivers excellent audio performance at comparable bitrates. We often have video materials on hand, such as lecture recordings, music productions, or game capture clips. If we want to extract these audio tracks into the OGG format for web embedding or use in open-source projects, converting videos one by one is far too tedious. When faced with dozens or even hundreds of video files, manually converting each one individually consumes a significant portion of our working time.
So how can we batch convert various video files like MP4, AVI, and MOV into OGG audio files? Video takes up most of the space in an MP4 file. If you only want to keep the audio, continuing to use the video format is very space-consuming. Extracting it to OGG format can significantly reduce the file size, making it convenient to store on our phones or share with friends. The main reason is that OGG causes minimal damage to sound quality during compression, allowing you to get sufficiently clean audio using less space.
Enhance compatibility
Although the OGG format may seem niche, it is actually perfectly supported by many mainstream browsers, music software, and built-in players on many phones. Once we extract the audio from a video into OGG, whether used as material for video editing or posted online as an audio work, it can be opened smoothly. This is much better than some audio formats that require extra plugins to be installed for playback.
Free and open source
Many audio formats on the market are backed by commercial companies and may involve patent or copyright issues. However, OGG is purely open source and free, meaning we don't have to worry about complex licensing when using any tool to convert it to audio. This allows us to reliably turn the sound from videos into our own independent files.

Steps to batch extract audio from MP4 and other videos to OGG format
1. Open [ HeSoft Doc Batch Tool ], select [Video Tools] - [Video to OGG].
2. Choose a method under [Add Files] or [Import Files from Folder] to import the video files you need to convert. You can also directly drag and drop files into the area below to add them, then click Next. After that, click Browse to select the save location for the new files.
