Sometimes we have many files that need to be sorted and categorized in batches, and some file names follow certain patterns. So is there a way to put files that contain the same pattern into the same folder? This way, we can batch organize and categorize files. Now, let me tell you a method to batch place many patterned files into folders uniformly.
Scenarios for Organizing Files by Name
During office work, sometimes we have many notepad files, Word documents, or PDF files on our computers. The file names may be very long, but they all follow a similar pattern. For example, the first few characters might be numbers, and the middle ones might be letters. Is there a simple way to batch-organize files with the same pattern into the same folder during the sorting process? This would make it convenient for us to uniformly view and preview these files. For instance, placing files whose first three digits are the same into a folder, with the folder named after those three digits. Or placing files with the same two middle letters into a folder, where the folder is named after those two letters. You can now use the following method to simply and quickly achieve our goal.

Steps for Classifying File Names
First, we open the HeSoft Doc Batch Tool software. Then, we go to File Organization and click on the 【Classify Files by File Name】 function. You can refer to the screenshot below.

After entering the batch file name classification function, we can directly click the Add Files button in the upper right corner. At this point, add all the files that we need to process for classification.

After adding the files that need batch file name organization, we directly click Next. Then, we choose to classify using a custom regular expression. Enter the regular expression for the pattern we need to classify. Regular expressions are a professional term in computing; it's okay if you don't understand them, because we can use some AI software to directly provide a regular expression. Then, we just copy the regular expression from the AI software. You can check the help button next to the regular expression for more information.

After setting up the options for batch file name classification, we just click Next, and the software will quickly batch-organize all our files according to the first three digits.
