When handling China's OFD files for international teams, we often face a practical challenge. Some OFD files contain dozens of pages, but we usually only need key sections, such as the summary on the first page, specific contract clauses, or data tables. Extracting these pages from the file is quite common. However, manually taking screenshots for extraction significantly reduces our work efficiency. We can use a method to selectively batch-convert and export the needed pages as JPG images, which not only preserves the extraction of key content but also avoids obtaining unnecessary pages.
Here's a tip to teach you how to effectively batch extract the pages you need from multiple OFD files while preserving the original page layout and formatting. Let's give it a try together!
When would you need to batch extract the first page or specific pages from multiple OFD files?
Compiling file covers
Enterprise or government documents often use the OFD format, where the first page is typically a cover, title page, or abstract. To facilitate quick review and browsing, batch extracting the first page of these files to generate a catalog or preview list can significantly improve document management efficiency.
Batch review scenarios
When finance or audit departments process OFD files, there are often signature pages or review pages that need progress checks or confirmation of signing. We can batch extract the last page or signature page from these files to generate summary reports, which not only saves manual sorting time but also quickly produces materials for internal review, electronic signatures, or printing.
Automated document processing
In many scenarios involving electronic archives management or data entry, specific pages often need to be automatically extracted from OFD files for indexing and parsing. By batch converting the required pages from OFD to JPG images, the needed page information can be quickly retrieved, facilitating OCR recognition and database updates.
